چکیده

A complete discrete set of spherical single-particle wave functions for studies of weakly-bound many-body systems is proposed. The new basis is obtained by means of a local-scale point transformation of the spherical harmonic os-cillator wave functions. Unlike the harmonic oscillator states, the new wave functions decay exponentially at large distances. Using the new basis, characteristics of weakly-bound orbitals are analyzed and the ground state properties of some spherical doubly-magic nuclei are studied. The basis of the transformed harmonic oscillator is a significant improvement over the harmonic oscillator basis, especially in studies of exotic nuclei where the coupling to the particle continuum is important.

We consider K − nucleon elastic and inelastic scattering in isospin symmetric nuclear matter. It is found that the proper description of the Λ(1405) resonance structure in nuclear matter requires a self-consistent approach. Then the Λ(1405) resonance mass remains basically unchanged, however, the resonance acquires an increased decay width as nuclear matter is compressed. The elastic and inelas...

We study the hyperfine splitting of an electron in hydrogen-like 209 Bi 82+. It is found that the hfs energy splitting can be explained well by considering the g-factor reduction due to the binding effect of a bound electron. We determine for the first time the experimental value of the magnetic moment of a tightly bound electron.

A detailed derivation of the collisional widths of collective vibrations is presented in both quantal and semi-classical frameworks by considering the linearized limits of the extended TDHF and the BUU model with a non-Markovian binary collision term. Damping widths of giant dipole and giant quadrupole excitations are calculated by employing an effective Skyrme force, and the results are compar...
